Michelle's 35 Year Career...

When I got the opportunity to photograph retiring Seattle Firefighter Michelle Williams, I jumped at it.

Michelle started her career with Seattle Fire back in 1984. At that time, she was the second black female firefighter in SFD's history.

Michelle and I met up at Fire Station 6 where she finished her career as the Tillerwoman of Ladder 3. Before coming to Ladder 3, Michelle's previous assignment had been on Ladder 7 at Station 14.
